Paradise Park Nursery needs your help
Paradise Park Nursery is run by the Islington Play Association (IPA). Due to financial difficulties, the charity has said it can no longer continue operating the nursery. The Council is allowing this closure, with no guarantees for workers.
Paradise Park Nursery is a vital community asset, staffed by a wonderful group of educators who care for our children with warmth and professionalism. As a parent body, we are devastated to hear that the staff's jobs, and the nursery itself, are at risk. Our concern is not only the upheaval this will cause for our children, but also the loss of such a special, council-funded community institution.
We are determined to do everything we can to support our wonderful nursery staff, and to fight to keep Paradise Park Nursery open.

Background
Paradise Park Children’s Centre, 164 MacKenzie Rd, London N7 8SE, has been operating as a children’s nursery since 2005. In May 2026, staff were informed that the nursery was at risk of closure.
Just a few days later, Islington Council confirmed this closure, in the face of calls from parents and staff to work with us to find a solution.
We believe there are many viable alternatives that the Council should explore, and we ask the Council to give us the opportunity to do so. Our concern is not only for our children, but also the wonderful and loyal staff of this beloved local nursery.
